Shuri castle (Trip to Okinawa, 2011.1.5-7)

On the first day, we've been to Shuri castle, which was the place of the Ryukyu Kingodom. It was built during the Gusuku period. When King Sho Hashi unified the three sections of Okinawa and established the Ryukyu Kingdom. He used Shuri Castle as a residence. For 450 years, it was the royal court and administrative center of the Ryukyuan Kingdom. It was beautiful day^^ We caught our breath over a can of Orion beer & sheekwasa juice, both of which are local product in Okinawa.

最初の日は、首里城へ。首里城は、三山時代には中山の城として用いられていたことが確認されている。 尚巴志が三山を統一し琉球王朝を立てると、首里城を王家の居城として用いるようになった。同時に首里は首府として栄え、第二尚氏においても変えられることはなかった。天気のいい日だったんで、沖縄特産のオリオンビールとシークワーサージュースを手に、一息です。

Churaumi Aquarium (Trip to Okinawa, 2011.1.5-7)

On the second day, we took bus tour which is organized by Rado tour company to go to Churaumi Aquarium. With its enormous capacity, a gigantic tank called The Kuroshio Sea Tank (picture above) the largest fish in the world, the whale shark, and the world's first successfully bred-in-captivity manta can also be seen. Moreover, you can experience the sea of Okinawa when you journey into the deep sea attraction, which recreates Okinawa's mystery-enshrouded deep sea. We took a bunch of fish pics with single-lens reflex camera.

２日目、ラド観光会社が主催するバス・ツアーで、美ら海水族館へ。メインスポットは、やっぱり、巨大なタンクの、黒潮の海水槽でしょ。ジンベエザメ、マンタ、キハダ、カツオの群れを眺めることができます。迫力満点の海水槽です。動く魚こそ、一眼レフで、連続シャッターと、パノラマ設定で！と張り切って撮るが、なかなか写真って難しいですね。

Nokonoshima island: Cosmos

We have been to Nokonoshima Island again. The park was filled with nanohana last March. It is filled with colourful cosmos in autumn. pink, red, and white flowers contrast with the blue ocean and sky. It was magnificent. Since he bought a single- lense reflex camera, taking pictures has become something of our hobby. Walking in cosmos garden, we took cosmos pictures, bring the camera into different focuses. Pictures are quite different from what we see with our own eyes.

When I put my feet into water, they started to kiss my skin.... ewe ....
They completely get rid of skin smear. haha.. 15 min... i just kept looking at them kissing my feet. well, when i got done, I felt my feet very smooth. yaay ! 15 min for 1000 yen. Give it a try!

Night Market : snack (Trip to Taiwan: No2)

Conference committee organized the short trip to Night Market in Taichun. Two Taiwan uni students were kind enough to take us around the market, explaining all yummy Taiwan traditional snack. Night markets are one of the highlights of Taiwanese life. They offer many stuff, such as snack, trendy clothing, shoes, bags, watches with very reasonable price. So, I bought beautiful hand made bag and trendy black jacket. hehe ^~^
Night markets are also famous for their specialty food items, called xiao chi. The one I liked the most was traditional Taiwan hamburger (left on the pic). very soft white ban with egg, pork, and vegi. It was much much better than MacDonald.... Thanks guys !

大会の委員会がオーガナイズしてくれた、Night Market ツアーに参加しました。2人のとってもキュートな大学生が、夜市場を案内してくれ、おいしい台湾のスナックをたくさん紹介してれました。夜市場は、台湾生活のハイライトの一つ！何でも売ってるんですね、しかもかなりお得な値段で。ハンドメイドのとっても可愛らしいバッグと、黒のジャケットを購入しました。日本で買ったら、三倍の値だろうな！
そして、夜市場で食べたスナックの中で、私が一番好きだったのは、左の写真の、台湾式ハンバーガー（ベーコン、卵、野菜入り）。マックよりおいしいやん。有難うね、大学生のみなさん。

It has been a long time since I went to Kumamoto. Kumamoto city is quite different what I thought. It is the place for sightseeing. On the “Kyushu Shinkansen”, scheduled to open for service in 2011, the trip between Hakata and Kumamoto will be 35 minutes. So, the local government have spent a lot of money to attract tourists. "Touch Navi" is very convenient tool to get information just by touching with cell phone. Try it !

本丸御殿の最深部には、中国の故事に出てくる王昭君の絵画（襖絵とも屏風絵ともいわれる）のある「昭君之間（しょうくんのま）」と呼ばれる部屋があった。この部屋には鶯張りの廊下や外へと通じる隠し通路があったといい、藩主の居間として使われていたようだが、一説によると、豊臣家の有事に際し秀吉の子秀頼を密かに匿うために造られた部屋であるといわれている。“しょうくん”＝“しょうぐん”（将軍）の意とする説がある（当時は濁点を打たないので、仮名で書けば同一になる）。表面上は天下人の徳川家康に恭順しながらも、秀吉への恩を忘れない清正の忠義を示しているのだという。

Kumamoto castle (Trip to Kagoshima & Kumamoto in GW)

Kumamoto castle is located in the centre of Kumamoto city. So, you can see it from shopping area. Kumamoto Castle is considered one of the three premier castles in Japan, along with Himeji Castle and Nagoya Castle. The original castle took seven years to construct, and was completed in 1607, by Kiyomasa Kato. In its prime, the castle had 49 turrets, 18 turret gates, and 29 castle gates, all contained within a circumference of 5.3 km of stone walls.

Nokonoshima island

We have been to Nokonishima island park, which is a delightful place for colorful flowers. After 10 minutes, the ferry brought us to the small island, Nokonoshima. It is about 3.93 km　and 800 people. When we were walking along the street and talking about field mustard, we reached the flower garden filled with field mustard. Yellow flower and pink cherry blossom with blue ocean. absolutely beautiful^^

Moji port

★English★ We have been to Moji port, where the Moji banana sellers have traditionally performed their song (banana no tatakiuri) near the station. Nowadays, Moji port is also famous for baked curry rice^^ We have been to the original restaurant called "curry hompo", which can be found on Kawabata shop street. It was very cold, when we visited there. So, hot baked curry rice got us out of the cold!! On the way back, we met street entertainer who performed with rubber, fireball, and yo-yo. He was 23 years old and impressed us with his passion.

Ginkakuji

After the conference at Kyoto university, I visited Ginkaku temple, which is one of the famous temples in Kyoto, Japan. There were a full of tourists from overseas.

Ginkaku temple was not originally a temple. Ashikaga Yoshimasa (1436-1490), the 8th Ashikaga Shogun began construction in 1460 but was prevented from immediately completing his retirement villa due to the Onin Wars (1467-1477).
Ginkaku became Yoshimasa's escape from the ravages of the civil war. Yoshimasa relocated to Higashiyamadono in 1483 and lived there, holding Noh plays, tea ceremonies, and enjoying things of an aesthetic nature until his death in 1490. By 1490 a total of 12 buildings and an expansive garden had been completed.

We have been to the 1st shop of Coffee Prince^^ There were full of tourists. We ordered coffee and cheese cake. yummy !!!! but, the price was a bit high. They are making money..... anyway, we had a great time there, talking over coffee. I love to spend time in a fancy cafe on rainy day.
Coffee Prince is very popular drama that was taken in this coffee shop. ya!
Yoon Eun Hye, is a 24-year old tomboyish female who gets mistaken as a guy quite often. Gong Yoo, is the son of a rich family who runs a food

Nami island (Trip to Korea, No2)

We had a short trip to Nami island (20/9~21/9). What a beautiful day. It is taken just before getting into the ferry heading to Nami island.

Buk-Han river and Cheong-Pyeong dam are located in 63km north along the Han River which runs all the way to Seoul, capital of Korea. On the river, lies half-moon-shaped Nami Island, looking like a floating leaf on the river. The circumference of the island is approximately 5km and its land area is 460,000m.

My favorite dish is "Japchae", which made from cellophane noodles (called dangmyeon), stir fried in sesame oil with and various vegetables. japchae literally means "a mixture of vegetables."It is similar to Japanese "harusame" but the texture of noodle is more sticky. She gave me a bunch of noodle when i went back to Japan !!

Uradomi Rock Cliffs

Ifound the beautiful picture of Uradome Coast in the tour guide book. So, i asked the old lady, waiting for the bus coming, how to get there....... I took city bus to get to the Uradome Coast. The Uradome Coast near the eastern end of Tottori Prefecture puts the rest all of to shame with one of the best beaches in Japan.
One way to enjoy Uradome is to take a tour boat around the cliffs and beaches. The Uradome Coast Island Tour leaves from a dock just west of the Uradome Coast and is a guided 40 minute ride.

ガイドブックでとっても素敵な写真を見つけたので、バス停にいたおばあちゃんに尋ねると、どうやら、浦富海岸といって、鳥取砂丘から、市営バスで２０分ぐらいらしい。ということで、バスに乗り、この海岸に行ってきました。浦富海岸は、日本三景の松島の女性的な美しさに対して、ダイナミックで男性的な魅力から「山陰の松島」と呼ばれています。この島々の間を遊覧船に乗って見て回りました。
