Kumamoto castle (Trip to Kagoshima & Kumamoto in GW)

Kumamoto castle is located in the centre of Kumamoto city. So, you can see it from shopping area. Kumamoto Castle is considered one of the three premier castles in Japan, along with Himeji Castle and Nagoya Castle. The original castle took seven years to construct, and was completed in 1607, by Kiyomasa Kato. In its prime, the castle had 49 turrets, 18 turret gates, and 29 castle gates, all contained within a circumference of 5.3 km of stone walls.

熊本のショッピング街のすぐ近くにあり、買い物しながら眺めることができる熊本城。、安土桃山時代末期から江戸時代初期にかけて加藤清正がこれを取り込み、現在のような姿の熊本城を1607年に築いた。日本三名城の一つとされ、「清正流（せいしょうりゅう）」と呼ばれる石垣の上に御殿、大小天守、五階櫓などが詰め込んだように建てられ、一大名の城としては「日本一」であるとの評価がある。福岡城より、かなりすごいやん～
